mondoBIOTECH holding AG (SIX: RARE) announces today to have been granted the patent for the method of treatment of Hepatitis B virus infection by the United States Patent Office, for its medicinal product candidate DasKloster 0039.
"Hepatitis B virus infections induce an immune response leading to inflammation in the liver (hepatitis), which might also evolve into liver cirrhosis and eventually lead to hepatocellular carcinoma. Our medicinal product candidate has shown efficacy in eradicating the virus, thus reducing the risks of such liver pathologies" says Company’s CSO Dr. Dorian Bevec.
