Das Kloster in Stans is a former Capuchin monastery currently devoted to dry scientific research. Constructed in the 16th century, the monastery was a spiritual and educational center for the region throughout the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Since 2007 the monastery has been occupied by Mondobiotech as a research space and future meeting place.

Local sites and activities:
Stans is located at the base of the Stanserhorn, a nearly 2,000-meter peak accessible by local train or cable car.

Located in the Nidwalden, the region is known for its beautiful hiking in the summer, or skiing in the winter.

Luzern is the closest city, also accessible by train.
