mondoBIOTECH forms business alliance with IFE Europe GmbH

Basel/Essen – mondoBIOTECH AG, the Technology Pioneer 2008, today announced a new business alliance with IFE Europe GmbH, a company owned by Pierrel S.p.A., for clinical study management of trials emerging from mondoBIOTECH's product pipeline. Under the terms of the agreement, IFE Europe GmbH will provide mondoBIOTECH with full clinical trial services in support of a variety of clinical Phase 2 studies in rare diseases.

The contract has an anticipated value of 1 millions Euros for IFE Europe GmbH and Pierrel S.p.A., with a potential value of up to 70 millions Euros.

LungRx and mondoBIOTECH, the World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer 2008, signed a transatlantic strategic partnership agreement for developing drugs for patients with rare diseases
Silver Spring/Basel, 10 December 2007 – A major advance has been made on this International Human Rights Day 2007 for the Human Rights of patients affected by rare diseases. Lung Rx, a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Therapeutics Corporation, and mondoBIOTECH created a transatlantic strategic partnership focused on helping patients battling orphan diseases. The agreement on delivery of peptide drugs has an anticipated value of $55 Million for mondoBIOTECH, excluding royalties and other more contingent rights and agreements. The agreement provides Lung Rx with a large pipeline of products to treat orphan lung diseases as well as other diseases that are optimally treated by inhaling peptides.

The World Economic Forum today announced 39 visionary companies selected as Technology Pioneers 2008. Mondobiotech has been selected as one of these Technology Pioneers. The Technology Pioneers 2008 were nominated by the world’s leading technology experts, including venture capitalists, technology companies, academics and media.

European Commission grants mondoBIOTECH's product Aviptadil the Orphan Medicinal Product Designation for the treatment of Sarcoidosis in European Union
Basel Switzerland, October 19, 2007. mondoBIOTECH, a private Swiss biotechnology company, today announced the receipt of an Orphan Medicinal Product Designation (OMPD) by the European Commission for its product Aviptadil for the treatment of Sarcoidosis in the European Union (EU/3/07/473), after the positive opinion given by the European Medicinal Agency (EMEA).
